Hawaii Symphony Orchestra | Inspired by the music, passion and people of Hawai‘i. Organic and precise, just like music. The “H” is abstracted from a sharp symbol. “S” represents the f-hole in string instruments. “O” is a whole note. The curve references the horizon that Hawaiians gaze upon every day, and the horizontal brush-stroke represents the motion of a performer’s bow and the colors of a Hawaiian setting sun. To have the entire board of a non-profit agree unanimously to approve this logo was gratifying indeed.
Red Star Music Fest | Designed for a rap-and-reggae outdoor music festival, this logo had to feel contemporary, fresh and not corporate, with only a nod to Heineken’s sponsorship by using the red star motif found on their bottles.
