about

My roots extend all the way to the frigid wintry reaches of Wisconsin, from which I escaped as soon as possible. My two BFAs were earned from Tulane University in New Orleans (Painting) and from Art Center in Pasadena (Advertising). I cut my teeth as an Art Director at O&M/Portland and then at DDB/Seattle.

To gain international experience, I moved to DDB/Singapore as Associate Creative Director, working on VW and Mobil regionally. Later I worked as a CD at O&M/South Africa, in Cape Town, continuing to work on VW and Shell amongst others. Different cultures and different ways of thinking allowed my work to be more insightful. Plus, driving a Land Rover through a herd of white rhinos was a hella great way to spend a long weekend.

I was brought to Boston as an ACD for Arnold, then returned to LA, freelancing for RPA, Campbell Ewald, DDB and Deutsch in LA.

Recently I was the CD of one of the largest agencies in Hawaii, the Harris Agency. I’m now at Anthology, also in Hawaii, with Hawaiian Airlines as my biggest account.

I’m nearing my goal of joining the Century Club, for those who have visited at least 100 countries. I’ve summited Mt Rainier with famous mountaineer Lou Whittaker, walked hand in hand with an orangutan in Borneo, run the croc-infested Zambezi in a leaky dugout canoe and narrowly escaped a riot in Karachi, Pakistan.

My client experience includes Honda, Shell (Africa), Burger King, McDonalds and KFC, South African Breweries, Farmers Insurance, JanSport, Holland America Cruises,  VW (Asia & Africa), Mobil (Asia), Nokia (Asia & Europe), the Post Office (South Africa), Windstar Cruises, Hawaiian Airlines, as well as many many others.

I credit a combination of hard work, adventure and the adoption of two little girls from China as a few of the main reasons I wake up energized every morning.
